About this product

Aligning energy indexes with company success
Energy management taking DIN ISO 50006 into consideration

(Please note: This title is only available in German!)

Energy performance indicators (EnPI) are key to energy efficiency and are therefore more important than ever. The principles and guidelines for their measurement are laid down in DIN ISO 50006. The standard was thoroughly revised in 2023 which provided the perfect opportunity to also revamp Beuth’s “Energiekennzahlen auf den Unternehmenserfolg ausrichten”. This new version has been fully updated and adapted to the new issue of DIN ISO 50006. The greatly expanded work also includes the latest information and practical tips from the new version of the standard. It provides an overview of the complex processes for ascertaining, processing and using the energy indexes, supports the optimization of energy costs and helps to recognize problems as they develop and intervene in good time. Furthermore, “Energiekennzahlen auf den Unternehmenserfolg ausrichten” contains the following:

  • Introducing and setting up a EnPI system in accordance with DIN ISO 50006
  • ISO 50006 in the context of other standards and digitalization
  • Assessment, use and management in accordance with the energy indexes system
  • Potential savings

This book is of particular importance as the adoption of DIN ISO 50006 - in conjunction with the energy management standard ISO 50001 - is being required by more and more laws and regulations.

Optimal energy management using EnPIs

Making savings in the energy sector is the order of the day: dwindling resources and global insecurities make it clear that energy efficiency is not a luxury bit a necessity. Clear prognoses and assessments of utilization are vital for this. Energy performance indicators provide a guide. This book covers these topics and further aspects of energy efficiency measures. It provides users with a valuable practical aid for the adoption of energy performance indicators in accordance with ISO 50006, explains their role in controlling and also provides information on their evolution. Throughout the process of integrating an EnPI system, this book provides help with:

  • basic understanding of energy consumption and consumption processes
  • analysis of the initial energy situation
  • determining consumption factors
  • energy consumption equations
  • determining the energy performance indicators
  • application of the energy performance indicator

Users can use this to determine their individual requirements and implement the appropriate energy efficiency measures. The structures presented are suitable for iterative improvement and thus for progressive optimization of energy systems.

Included in this book:

  • Introduction
  • Alignment of energy management with business objectives and integration into operational controlling
  • History of the development of ISO standards on energy performance indicators and energy management systems
