Short description
This standard specifies a method for determining the number concentration of inorganic fibrous particles in indoor air or outdoor air and the assignment of these fibers to specific fiber classes (chrysotile, amphibole asbestos, calcium sulfate, other inorganic fibers). Fiber counting and classification is carried out using the SEM/EDXA method (scanning electron microscope/energy-dispersive X-ray analysis). The detection limit of the method for the fiber count concentration under the standard conditions specified in the standard is 300 m-3, the analytical sensitivity is 100 m-3. Information is provided on the differentiation of product fibers and the determination of organic fibers. This standard is primarily aimed at experts, engineering offices, specialist remediation companies, laboratories and authorities.
