Short description
The standard deals with the fire and explosion protection in spray dryers. Spray dryers often process combustible or degradable products at temperatures above 60 °C. Depending on the product used and the type of process, fires and explosions may ensue during specified normal use where degradation reactions give rise to dust/air mixtures or hybrid mixtures which then ignite. The standard is addressed to manufacturers of filter systems, technical inspection associations and system operators.
