Screws and bolts can be found in a wide variety of areas and are available in a wide range of qualities — as some of the simplest fasteners, screws and bolts are extremely versatile. The standardization landscape for screws and bolts is correspondingly extensive. DIN-Handbook 362 contains the standards that have been adopted from European standardization into the German body of standards. The division into European and national standards — DIN Handbook 362 and DIN Taschenbuch 10 — became necessary, as the importance of European standardization in the global exchange of goods continues to grow.

DIN Handbook 362 is a comprehensive compendium of standards that brings together almost all relevant documents on the subject at EU level and provides valuable services to users, manufacturers and other groups of people.

Practical work with much new content

The documents contained represent the current state of the art and standardization at EU level and offer experts the ideal compilation for professional practice: 50 standards on over 800 pages make the requirements and general information available at a glance.

Since the publication of the previous edition, there have been significant changes to the printed documents. These changes are:

• 3 newly included documents
  DIN EN ISO 4015 is an important document on hexagon head screws with reduced shank, DIN EN ISO 7435, which was only published in October 2024, provides data on slotted set screws with dog point, and the equally brand new DIN EN ISO 7436 from 2024 provides information on slotted set screws with cup point.
   
• 17 revised documents
  In the meantime, there have been a number of important changes to the standards already represented in the previous edition. For example, Supplement 3 to DIN 918 has been updated. All five parts of DIN EN 14399 have been revised - in some cases significantly - and important new annexes have been added. The standards on product classes of hexagon head bolts have also been extensively revised and supplemented.

This compendium of standards also contains an overview of the standards that are no longer printed compared to the previous edition.
