Short description
The standard describes interaction procedures, operation modes, and interaction devices. Interaction procedure here means the manner of operating. The standard specifies regulations, and gives recommendations, regarding interaction procedures in process control systems. Applying these recommendations results in interaction procedures which are in accordance with current standards and based on ergonomic findings. Thorough application of the recommendations lead to uniform user interfaces at different control workstations, offering the following advantages: the planning and design of process control systems is facilitated (no need to consider recurring specifications in new projects) and uniform interaction procedures for process control make it easier to employ operators for different systems, e.g. in different control rooms.
