Short description
The standard relates to optical temperature sensors whose temperature sensor is a fiber Bragg grating (FBG) or a fiber Bragg grating array. The FBGs are written by conventional write-in methods, such as by holographic grating, excimer laser or femtosecond laser. This standard provides guidance to the manufacturer of optical temperature sensors during production and description of the products, and provides the user with a better understanding of their selection, use, and operation. The standard gives recommendations for carrying out temperature measurements in the range between -260 °C and 600 °C as well as the correct indication of the measured values.
