Short description
Guideline VDI 6002 Part 2 like VDI 6002 Part 1 deals exclusively with solar power systems for domestic hot water. Systems that make use of solar power to operate a number of consumers in parallel (e.g. that combine domestic hot water systems with supplemental space heating systems) and solar supported district heating networks shall not be considered. In Section 7 some possibilities of this type are discussed. The solar power systems dealt with here are those installed outside of the normal residential context. However, sufficiently reliable data is not available for all cases in which the use of solar thermal technology is advisable. In some cases even though some data are available it is not possible to draw general conclusions concerning demand values because of the broad distribution of values for consumption or users´ profiles (e.g. for sports facilities). The statements made in the following are, however, applicable to other cases, inasmuch as there are no highly specific conditions of operation or use. The application of this guideline to cases that are not dealt with here must be undertaken at the discretion of the planner. In addition to the demand values for hot water, which are of great importance in planning a solar power system, information is also provided with regard to system technology and the choice of components, wherever this seems advisable as a result of deviations from the points dealt with in the guideline VDI 6002 Part 1. The values for hot water demand provided in the individual sections are defined for the planning of a solar power system. They cannot be applied to the planning of the conventional part of the hot water system without being verified
