VDI 4208 Blatt 2:2020-01

This standard specifies requirements on bodies for periodic testing of performance tested measuring devices used for emission monitoring at small firing installations. This includes organisational and technical requirements, the check of the equipment, the documentation of the results of the testing of the measuring devices, and the quality management system. The measuring device testing body in the sense of Art. 13 of 1. BImSchV is notified in accordance with 41. BImSchV by an authority, which is competent according to the federal state law. The meeting of different requirements on the measuring device testing body, e.g. concerning reliability, independence and neutrality according to 41. BImSchV and concerning the equipment according to this standard, is checked in the notification procedure. The obligation that measuring devices used for emission monitoring at small firing installations have to be checked every half year by a body for periodic testing of these measuring devices guarantees that the relevant measurands are determined in accordance with the regulations. This standard is addressed to bodies for periodic testing of performance tested measuring devices and to the authorities responsible for the notification of these bodies. Manufactures of measuring devices for monitoring emissions at small firing installations, test institutes performing performance tests of such measuring devices, and users of these measuring devices may use this standard as an additional source of information.
