Short description
The standard is aimed at practitioners from primarily small and medium-sized companies in the brewing industry. The standard gives an overview of selected economic and ecological optimisation measures in breweries. The optimisation follows the gradual, systematic approach according to VDI 4075 Part 1, which specifies the basic principles and the area of application. The actual brewing process and the bottling represent the major part of the total beer production. During these processes, the largest proportion of energy and water is consumed. The standard considers the process steps, "mash and wort preparation!", "fermentation", "storage", "filtration and bottling" as well as all necessary pre-treatment processes such as decontamination and cleaning procedures as a priority. Furthermore, the energy and cooling supply is included. The area malting is excluded as only very few breweries in Germany produce malt themselves.
