Short description
This guideline serves as an aid in planning, steering, implementation and control of reliability work in an organization. Responsibility for reliability management and the reliability of the processes, products, and services lies with organization's management. It sets the strategic aims for the organization, derives from these the reliability targets and takes all this into account when planning for the organization. This sets the basic conditions for creating processes, products and services at a level of reliability that is in accordance with good technological practice and with their purpose of use over all phases of their life cycle. It also makes it possible to optimise life cycle costs and safety. Related areas are quality assurance, value analysis, Design to Cost, status monitoring. These, and the corresponding analysis and processes, are not dealt with in this guideline.
