Short description
This standard describes a procedure to consider steep terrain appropriately in dispersion calculation according to TA Luft and GIRL. The method uses wind field calculations with prognostic mesoscale models corresponding to standard VDI 3783 Part 7. The procedure includes the design of a wind field library to perform dispersion calculations. It can be used for dispersion calculations based on meteorological time series as well as meteorological frequency distributions. The standard describes the concept and defines demands on the prognostic model calculations and the transfer of the results into a wind field library. Moreover the standard explains how to arrange the position of the anemometer to provide the meteorological parameters for the dispersion calculation if the measurements have to be transferred from a site outside the calculation area.
