Short description
Noises from domestic hot water and central heating systems can result in substantial annoyance in rooms requiring protection (common rooms) and in the vicinity thereof. For this reason, noise reduction measures are required. This guideline presents values of the noise emission in the room where the heat source is installed, in the exhaust duct and at the chimney outlet. It includes suggested measures for noise control in the construction as well as noise-control measures to be considered in the planning and realisation of heating systems. This guideline applies to heating systems with oil- and gas-fired boilers with fan burners and their chimneys on which acoustic requirements are placed. They also apply similarly for exhaust systems located outside buildings. This guideline is intended for architects, specialist planners, plant manufacturers, licensing authorities and clients.
