Short description
Asphalt is used as an important building material in traffic route construction, structural engineering, as well as in hydraulic engineering and landfill construction. Moreover, asphalt is more suitable for reuse than almost any other building material, so that the recycling technology of asphalt mixing plants has been continuously further improved and today more than 80 % of site-won asphalt can be returned to the material cycle. The standard describes the state of the art of these plants with a focus on emission reduction measures. All process stages from storage of the input materials, mix production, recycling of site-won asphalt to loading of the finished asphalt mixture are taken into account. In addition, the emission measurement technology at these plants is discussed. The standard is primarily addressed to operators of asphalt mixing plants as well as competent authorities, experts, and measuring institutes.
