DIN SPEC 91350:2016-11

This DIN SPEC has been prepared by a workshop (temporary committee) in the course of the PAS procedure. This DIN SPEC has been prepared and adopted by the authors named in the foreword. This DIN SPEC defines requirements for the data structure and content of BIM-LV containers. Content requirements for the building information model, the bill of quantities, the link model and the descriptive metadata are specified and defined in the form of an XML schema. The XML schema of the BIM-LV container as well as the definition of the metadata required for the various data exchange phases are provided as a subject-specific manifestation of the multi-model container for the data exchange phases practiced in the BIM process. This DIN SPEC is based on the GAEB process commonly used in Germany, which is defined by standardized data exchange phases. With regard to the data exchange of building information model and bill of quantities, direct reference is made to the IFC data exchange according to ISO 16739 as well as to the GAEB-DA-XML data exchange. For both standards, requirements are set for their embedding in the BIM-LV container. The use of other storage forms is permissible, but requires a project-specific agreement of the metadata defined here as well as the requirements for the link model.
