Overview

This document specifies requirements and tests for the laser resistance of textile protective materials for laser safety gloves. The specified requirements and tests are supplementary to the existing ones in the field of protective gloves (such as DIN EN 407 and DIN EN 420) and can be carried out additionally. The testing of protective glove materials can optionally be carried out for a selected wavelength, a selected spectrum in the wavelength range or for the entire defined test range in the wavelength spectrum using the requirement definitions applicable here (transmission, absorption, remission/reflection as well as calorimetric and optical measurements). The testing of protective glove materials against non-coherent UV radiation is not part of this standard for the time being.
