Overview

Determination of the hardness and wear resistance is an important prerequisite for evaluating the protective function of coatings. Its aim is to provide a summarizing list of test methods for the evaluation of the hardness and wear resistance of coatings under different loading conditions. This DIN SPEC (Technical Report) provides a helpful overview for the selection of the test method most suitable for a single case in order to evaluate the hardness and wear resistance of coatings. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 002-00-07-14 AK "Haftfestigkeit und Härte" ("Adhesive strength and hardness") at DIN.
