Overview

This DIN SPEC has been prepared by a Workshop (temporary committee) in the course of the PAS method. The preparation and adoption of the document was carried out by the writers mentioned in the foreword. This DIN SPEC contains a guideline for the execution of future standardization projects in the service sector. For this purpose, interfaces between service standards and relevant legal regulations, in particular in the area of contract and liability law, are shown. Furthermore, a description what legal effects service standards via certain "docking spots" can have in the legal system. Matching the legal provisions of the contract, liability and professional law is a cross-sectional topic which is important for a variety of service fields. This DIN SPEC is primarily directed at participants in national, European and international standardization committees. It shall allow the persons involved in the preparation of a service standard to recognize the legal relevance of standards already during the standardization process and to take it into account during the formulation of the standards. Particular attention shall be taken that they are not in conflict with legal and administrative provisions (see DIN 820-1:2009-05, 7.4).
