Overview

This Technical Report describes a naming system by which glass bulbs used as a covering for electric lamps are designated. The use of such designations is intended for the description of finished lamps. In the new third edition of IEC/TR 60887:2010, the special glass bulb form MR has been introduced. The Subcommittee responsible for this Technical Report is UK 521.1 "Elektrische Lampen" ("Electrical lamps") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
