Fire tests on individual roofs are carried out in accordance with DIN V ENV 1187, test 1, or DIN 4102-7. The results of these tests are the basis of the classification in accordance with DIN EN 13501-5 and/or DIN 4102-7. In order to also prepare classifications for roofs which deviate from the tested ones, further rules are necessary. They can describe direct or extended scopes. This prestandard describes how such rules can be developed and lists already existing rules. The rules have been developed due to existing information about marketable roofs and represent a system which is always open for modifications and supplements. This prestandard contains specifications for application and development of direct and extended application rules for roofs using test results in accordance with DIN V ENV 1187, test 1 or in accordance with DIN 4102-7 as well as other relevant information in order to evaluate roofs in relation to their reaction to fire to support national building inspectorate suitability certification. A method is described to take into account potential influences on the classification ("proof of hard roofing") with variation of one or more parameter(s) in the roof structure of an individual product when tested in accordance with DIN V ENV 1187, test 1, or in accordance with DIN 4102-7. This prestandard does not deal with classifications in accordance with DIN EN 13501-5. The following modifications have been made with respect to DIN V 4102-23:2009-08: a) Table 6 has been supplemented by product-specific and end-use-specific influence quantities. b) A new Table 7 has been incorporated (Rules for extended application of test results for liquid-applied waterproofings). c) Table 9 has been supplemented by binder content, geometry and roofing sheets as separating layer. d) New application rules for expanded perlite and self-adhesive layers have been incorporated in Table 10. e) Table 11 has been adapted to the state of the art. f) The influence quality binder content has been incorporated in Table 12. This prestandard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 005-52-07 AA "Brandverhalten von Baustoffen und Bauteilen - Bedachungen (Spiegelausschuss zu CEN/TC 127/WG 5 und Teilbereichen von CEN/TC 127/WG 7 und ISO/TC 92/SC 2)" ("Fire behaviour of building materials and building components - Roofing (Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 127/WG 5 and parts of CEN/TC 127/WG 7 and ISO/TC 92/SC 2)") and also serves for support of the European work of CEN/TC 127 "Fire safety in buildings".
