Based on DIN EN 15239, DIN EN 15240 and DIN EN 15243 and taking into account DIN V 18599, this document (DIN SPEC 15240) defines a methodology suitable for energetic inspection of air-conditioning systems and ventilation systems in non-residential buildings. DIN SPEC 15240 specifies the contents and minimum requirements for the energetic inspection according to EnEV. It applies to the following systems: air-conditioning systems with a thermal cooling capacity of more than 12 kW and ventilation systems in non-residential buildings (according to EnEV 2009 not compulsory). DIN SPEC 15240 does not describe any activities carried out in the framework of maintenance of functional integrity (maintenance, inspection, etcetera). Regular maintenance is the basis for carrying out the energetic inspection according to this pre-standard. DIN SPEC 15240 does not describe the qualification of the acting persons or organizations. The frequency of energetic inspection is specified in EnEV. DIN SPEC 15240 does not cover the operations necessary for the energetic inspection of residential ventilation systems, these are completely described in DIN 1946-6:2009-05, clause 12 and Annex E. This document (DIN SPEC 15240) has been prepared by Working Committee NA 041-05-02 AA "Energetische Bewertung von raumluft- und klimakältetechnischen Anlagen" ("Energy efficiency of ventilation/air conditioning and refrigeration systems") at the Heating and Ventilation Technology and their Safety Standards Committee (NHRS).
This document has been replaced by: DIN SPEC 15240:2019-03 .
