Overview
The DIN SPEC is applicable to plastics pipes, fittings and joints to be used for the transport of water intended for human consumption and raw water used for the manufacture of water intended for human consumption. This specification applies to manufacturers, test equipment and users of plastic pipes, fittings and joints. This specification is intended to provide guidance for the user on the number of successive migration periods to be carried out, how to interpret migration values calculated from successive migration periods, the method of converting migration values into values that reflect field use conditions and the acceptance criteria for the duplicate migration values obtained by testing in accordance with EN ISO 8795. It contains in particular aspects regarding product safety. DIN SPEC 1159 is the German version of CEN/TR 852 which was published by CEN as a Technical report. At DIN Committee NA 054-05-02 AA "Prüfverfahren für Rohre" ("Test methods for pipes") is responsible for preparing DIN SPEC 1159.
