Short description
The standard method EN 16909 provides guidance for the determination of organic carbon (OC) and elemental carbon (EC) deposited on filters. It has been developed following the requirement for the EU member states to measure OC and EC in PM2.5 at background sites (Council Directive 2008/50/EC on ambient air quality and cleaner air for Europe). This TR describes procedures to assess the applicability of the standard method EN 16909 (determination of OC and EC deposited on filters) to particle size fractions up to 10 µm in aerodynamic diameter (50 % cut off).
