This standard is valid for connectors to be used in connection with conducting wire cross-section of 35 mm2 for connecting batteries. Components according to this standard are subject to type testing according to VG 95211 and/or VG 96937-1. Connectors according to this standard are in accordance with the determinations and configurations of STANAG 3660 AE, 2. edition from 28.03.1977, Amendment No. 6 from 06.04.1992 and the determinations and design A, Figure A3 of STANAG 3514 AE, 3. edition from 26.06.1984, Amendment No. 7 from 04.11.1991. Connectors according to this standard may be used at ambient temperatures from -55 °C to 85 °C. The committee responsible for the standard is NA 140-00-14-01 UA "Steckverbinder und Steckvorrichtungen" ("Electrical connectors and plug-and-socket devices") at DIN Standards Committee Electrical Engineering (NE).
