This standard is a product standard for switches. The committee responsible for the standard is NA 140-00-15 AA "Schalter" ("Switches") of the Electrical Engineering Standards Committee (NE) at DIN. This standard applies in conjunction with VG 95318-2 for 3-circuit rotary switches which are used as light switches in military vehicles for network voltages of DC 24 V according to VG 96916-5 and of DC 28 V according to MIL-STD-1275D. 3-circuit rotary switches according to this standard are subject to approval in accordance with VG 95211. 3-circuit rotary switches according to this standard are intended for use within an ambient temperature range from -46 °C to 85 °C.
