Overview

Glands for cables according to this standard are used for mounting shielded cables according to VG 95218. For establishment of concentric, permanently conductive shield contacting they are fitted with an earthing insert according to VG 88812. For protection against humidity, a heat-shrinkable sleeve according to VG 95343-3 is additionally shrunk over the fully assembled gland for cables. Due to the use of metallic materials, the gland is also resistant to harsh environmental conditions on vessels. The standard also contains assembly instructions and a table in which the nominal sizes of the component parts are listed and allocated to the respective matching cable outside diameter.
