Overview

This product standard is applicable to household cooling/freezing devices for the storing of provisions and medicines usually used on vessels of the German Navy. It is applicable in conjunction with DIN EN ISO 15502 "Household refrigerating appliances - Characteristics and test methods". Along with technical-organizational requirements, additional mechanical and deviating electrical and environmental requirements which shall be met during the operation of such equipment on board vessels are specified in this standard. The cooling/freezing devices shall, for instance, pass through relatively small openings, shall be fixable or lockable and be capable of being permanently attached. They shall function with a mains frequency of 60 Hertz and shall be operable or functional up to a certain declination on vessels. This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 132-02-03 AA "Lüftungs-, Klima- und Kältetechnik" ("Heating, ventilation and air-conditioning").
