Overview

VG 85482 includes overviews of replenishment systems, procedures and methods for replenishment at sea on vessels. Replenishment at sea (RAS) - the abbreviation used by NATO - means the transfer of supplies and persons from vessel to vessel while underway or while underway anchored. The replenishment systems (dry and wet replenishment) with the replenishment procedure (high-line method (HL), wire high-line method (WHL), span-wire method (SW) and stern-bow method (SB)) and the associated replenishment method (abeam or astern replenishment) are stated in a table. The diagram of the individual procedures with the respective indication "receiving vessel" or "supplying vessel" visually documents the mentioned and listed procedures. In another table the respective associated VG standards have been compiled in a summary. This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 132-01-05 AA "Heben, Schleppen, Ankern" ("Heaving, towing, anchoring") of the Shipbuilding and Marine Technology Standards Committee (NSMT) at DIN.
