Spreader bars according to this standard are used on ship-to-shore gangways for floating equipment of the Deutsche Marine (German Navy) and are part of the ship-to-shore gangways. They are used for the spreading-out and fixing of safety nets according to VG 85249-1 in the working position on the land side if the port facility has no suitable fixing points.
