This standard has been prepared by the Shipbuilding and Marine Technology Standards Committee (NSMT) at DIN, Working Committee NA 132-05-03 AA "Kennzeichnungen" ("Designations"). This standard is a product standard in the field of signs and markings. Signs and marking of medical equipment, rooms to be used for medical purposes and storage places of medical equipment and devices according to BV, Heft 1850 for vessels and equipment of the Deutsche Marine (Germany Navy) are specified. With respect to the previous edition of the standard the title has been changed, a new clause "International signs for medical equipment" has been incorporated and an English translation has been added. This standard replaces VG 81226-6:2004-05.
