The aim of this part of the DIN VDE 0100 (VDE 0100) standard series is to meet a required demand for the supply and safety of low-voltage electrical installations with the lowest possible energy consumption with recommendations and requirements and thus to provide a design for an efficient electrical installation which allows an energy management process to suit the user's needs, and in accordance with an acceptable investment. The optimization of electrical energy usage can be facilitated by appropriate design and installation considerations. An electrical installation can provide the required level of service and safety for the lowest electrical consumption. This is considered by designers as a general requirement of their design procedures in order to establish the best use of electrical energy. For the first time, the various measures to ensure energy-efficient construction are listed and instructions are given for prioritizing measures depending on their profitability. The purpose of this standard is to introduce requirements and recommendations in the field of electrical installation design taking into account necessary parameters allowing to the consumer to optimize the consumption of electrical energy use taking into account the price of energy. These requirements and recommendations apply, within the scope of DIN VDE 0100 (VDE 0100) series, for new installations and modification of existing installations. This standard is applicable to the electrical installation of a building or system and does not apply to products. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 221.5 "Zukunftsfähige Elektroinstallationen" ("Sustainable electrical installations") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
