This standard applies to the construction of a PV power supply system that supplies all or part of an electrical installation and feeds electrical energy into a public power distribution network or into a consumer installation (non-public power distribution network). The electrical installation of a PV system starts with a PV module or a combination of PV modules connected to each other with the connection cables and lines provided by the manufacturer and ends at the grid connection point of the public power distribution network or the consumer installation. The requirements of this standard thus apply to PV systems for feeding into: - an electrical system not connected to a public power distribution network, - an electrical system, in parallel with the public power distribution network, - an electrical system, as an alternative to the public power distribution network, - suitable combinations of the previously mentioned enumerations. The following significant changes have been made with respect to DIN VDE 0100-712 (VDE 0100-712):2006-06: a) the scope has been adapted to the state of the art and specifies the extent of the standard requirements more precisely; b) terms have been harmonized as far as possible with those of the relevant product standards; c) the structure has been adapted to the standards of the DIN VDE 0100 (VDE 0100) series, in particular DIN VDE 0100-410 (VDE 0100-410); d) specifications on overvoltage and lightning protection have been added; e) on the DC side, only the protective measures "protection by double or reinforced insulation" and "protection by extra-low voltage by means of (SELV or PELV)" are now permitted; f) attachment of a sign to indicate the presence of a PV system is mandatory. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 221.5 "Zukunftsfähige Elektroinstallationen" ("Sustainable electrical installations") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
This document replaces DIN VDE 0100-712:2006-06; VDE 0100-712:2006-06 .
