DIN ISO/IEC 24712:2011-09

This standard contains the German translation of the second edition of the International Standard ISO/IEC 24712:2007-12. It specifies a set of test pages in a common file format with the help of which the office equipment (colour ink cartridges and colour toner modules) consumable yield can be determined. The test pages are also used for determining the consumable yield of reprocessed and compatible ink and toner cartridges, see DIN 33871-2, DIN 33871-1 (under revision) and DIN Technical Report 155. The procedure for using the test pages is specified in - ISO/IEC 19798 for toner modules in colour printers and multi-function devices and - DIN ISO/IEC 24711 for ink cartridges in colour inkjet printers and multi-function devices. The test pages comprise four "customer type documents" and a "diagnostic page" that is used to determine end of ink or toner consumable life or when the module (ink or toner cartridge) must be changed. The test pages represent documents that are used in the office and for private purposes, for example, word processing or presentations. Special applications such as photo printing are not covered by this standard. Manufacturers of ink cartridges and toner modules including consumable yield re-manufacturers and test institutes which determine the yield of toner cartridges in accordance with ISO/IEC 19798 or of ink cartridges in accordance with DIN ISO/IEC 24711 are users of this standard.
