DIN ISO 3415:2011-04

This standard specifies a method for the determination of thickness loss of textile floor coverings after brief, moderate static loading. The method is intended to simulate the effect of the pressure exerted by a chair leg for a short period. It is applicable to all textile floor coverings of uniform thickness and constitution. It does not apply to other textile floor coverings unless the areas of different thickness or construction can be separately tested. The test according to this standard leads to results which are comparable with the results achieved in the test according to DIN 54316:1983-10. DIN ISO 3415 contains the German translation of the International Standard ISO 3415:1986 which at that time was prepared by ISO/TC 38 "Textiles" with active German collaboration. Now ISO/TC 219 "Floor coverings" is responsible for textile, resilient and laminate floor coverings. This translation has been prepared by Working Committee NA 054-04-09 AA "Prüfung und Verwendungsbereichseinstufung textiler Bodenbeläge" ("Testing and classification of field of use of textile floor coverings") of FNK.
