Overview

The responsible national committee is Working Committee NA 062-06-34 AA "Anforderungen an Heizöle und Schifffahrtsbrennstoffe" ("Requirements for fuel oils and marine fuels") at DIN Standards Committee Materials Testing (NMP). This document contains the German translation of International Standard ISO 10478:1994 prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 28 "Petroleum products and related products of synthetic or biological origin" (secretariat: NEN, the Netherlands). This International Standard specifies a method for determining the aluminium and silicon contents of fuel oils at concentrations between 5 mg/kg and 150 mg/kg for aluminium and 10 mg/kg and 250 mg/kg for silicon using inductively coupled Plasma emission and atomic absorption spectroscopy.
