Overview

This International Standard provides guidance for specific activities in the handling of potential digital evidence; these processes are: identification, collection, acquisition and preservation of potential digital evidence. These processes are required in an investigation designed to maintain the integrity of the digital evidence, an acceptable approach to collecting digital evidence that supports its admissibility in court and disciplinary proceedings, as well as other instances. This International Standard also provides a general guide for collection of non-digital evidence to assist in the analysis of potential digital evidence.
