This standard has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European Commission and the European Free Trade Association to provide a means of conforming to Essential Requirements of the New Approach Directive 94/25/EC as amended by 2003/44/EC on recreational craft. This standard specifies relevant requirements of the aforementioned Recreational Craft Directive in Annex 1 regarding safety-related requirements for fire protection required by the Directive. This standard covers the prevention of fire and the protection of life in case of fire on small craft.
