Working Committee NA 074-02-03 AA "Physikalisch-technische Prüfverfahren für Papier und Pappe" ("Physical-technological test methods for paper and board") has decisively collaborated during the preparation of this document. This document has been prepared by adoption of the International Standard ISO 536:2012. During a routine revision of this standard ISO/TC 6 "Paper, board and pulps" identified some minor editorial changes that needed to be made. Furthermore, there were calls to validate the test method and its results by means of verifiable precision data. For simplicity's sake the results obtained in interlaboratory tests carried out in 2011 by CEPI (Confederation of European Paper Industries) were evaluated and used as precision data (see Annex B).
