Overview
The product standard on rubber hoses and hose assemblies for water suction and discharge specifies requirements for the elastomeric compounds and hoses used. Three types of hoses and hose assemblies with different pressure classes and according to their operating conditions are specified. They may be used at ambient temperatures between -25 °C and +70 °C and water temperatures between 0 °C and +70 °C. This document has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 45 "Rubber and rubber products", SC 1 "Hoses" (secretariat: DSM, Malaysia) of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been taken over as EN ISO 4641:2008 by Technical Committee CEN/TC 218 "Rubber and plastic hoses and hose assemblies", the secretariat of which is held by BSI. The responsible national Standards Committee is NA 045-02-12 AA "Schläuche" ("Hoses") of Rubber Technology Standards Committee (FAKAU).
