This document (EN ISO 3759:2011) has been prepared by ISO/TC 38 "Textiles", in collaboration with CEN/TC 248 "Textiles and textile products", the secretariat of which is held by BSI (United Kingdom). The responsible German Committee at DIN is Working Committee NA 062-05-13 AA "Textilpflege, Wassereinwirkung, Knitterverhalten" ("Textile care, water action, crease behaviour") of the Materials Testing Standards Committee (NMP). This International Standard specifies a method for the preparation, marking and measuring of textile fabrics, garments and fabric assemblies for use in tests for assessing dimensional change after a specified treatment, for example, washing, dry cleaning, soaking in water and steaming, following the procedures in ISO 3005, ISO 7771, ISO 6330, ISO 3175 or ISO 15797. This standard is applicable to woven and knitted fabrics, and made-up textile articles. The procedures are not applicable to certain upholstery coverings. The specimens are selected to represent the bulk of the textile under examination. Pairs of reference points are marked on each specimen, and the distance between each pair of reference points is measured before and after specified treatments. This standard differs from DIN EN ISO 3759:2008-05 as follows: a) ISO 15797 has been incorporated in the scope and in the normative references; b) the standard has been editorially revised.
This document replaces DIN EN ISO 3759:2008-05 .
