This standard defines relevant requirements set out in Annex I of EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, relating to machines which were placed on the European Economic Area (EEA) market for the first time, with the intent of simplifying the means of proving conformity with these requirements. This part of ISO 3691 deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations or hazardous events, as listed in Annex B, with the exception of the following, relevant to the applicable machines when used as intended and under conditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer. For the purposes of this part of ISO 3691, fork arms, load platforms and integrated attachments are considered to be parts of the industrial truck. Attachments mounted on the load carrier or on the fork arms which are removable by the user are not considered to be part of the industrial truck. The corresponding requirements in this document apply to attachments. This document contains the German version of EN ISO 3691-1:2015 which has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 110 "Industrial trucks" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 150 "Industrial trucks - Safety" at the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). Once this standard is cited in the Official Journal of the European Union under that Directive and has been implemented as a national standard in at least one Member State, compliance with the clauses of this standard with the exclusion of all references to ISO/TS 3691-8 confers, within the limits of the scope of this standard, a presumption of conformity with the relevant Essential Requirements of that Directive and associated EFTA regulations. The national interests during preparation of the standard were represented by Working Committee NA 060-60-42 AA "Sicherheit von Flurförderzeugen" ("Safety of industrial trucks") of Section "Materials handling technology" at DIN Standards Committee Mechanical Engineering (NAM). Representatives of manufacturers and users of industrial trucks and of the employers' liability insurance associations contributed to this standard.
