This test standard for textile conveyor belts describes a test method for determination of the full thickness tensile strength and the elongation in the longitudinal direction. It also specifies the method for determining the tensile strength in the transverse direction and the elongation at the breaking point in the longitudinal direction in the event that the purchaser requests that the manufacturer provide values for use. This standard is not suitable or valid for light conveyor belts as described in ISO 21183-1. This document has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 41 "Pulleys and belts (including veebelts)", SC 3 "Conveyor belts" of the International Organization of Standardization (ISO) and adopted by Technical Committee CEN/TC 188 "Conveyor belts". The responsible national committee is Working Committee NA 045-02-05 AA "Fördergurte"("Conveyor belts") at DIN Standards Committee Rubber Technology (FAKAU).
