Overview

This part of ISO 26203 contains requirements for the testing of metallic materials. Only examples for testing flat geometries are given. However, other geometries can be tested. The area of application spans a range of strain rates from 10-2 s-1 to 103 s-1. Unless otherwise specified, tests are carried out between 10 °C and 35 °C and using a servo-hydraulic-type test system. This document (EN ISO 26203-2:2011) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 164/SC 1 "Uniaxial testing", the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR (France), in collaboration with Technical Committee ECISS/TC 101 "Test methods for steel (other than chemical analysis)", the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR (France). The responsible German committee is Working Committee NA 062-01-42 AA "Zug- und Duktilitätsprüfung für Metalle" ("Tensile and ductility testing of metals") at the Materials Testing Standards Committee (NMP).
