This document (DIN EN ISO 23771) defines the basic principles of noise reduction for textile machines where there is a significant noise hazard. Textile machines with significant noise hazards are defined in the ISO 11111-1 to ISO 11111-7 series of standards "Textile machinery - Safety requirements". The planned standard supports the technical designer with the development of low-noise textile machinery. For this purpose, the significant sources of noise of the individual types of textile machines and suitable noise control measures are described. Elements needed for the operation of the textile machine, which are, however, not part of the textile machine, are not covered by this standard (for example, elements for transportation of process material, elements for provision of media). The committee responsible for this standard is NA 106-02-01 AA "Gemeinschaftsarbeitsausschuss BG Textil/Textilnorm: Sicherheitsanforderungen und Lärmminderung für Textilmaschinen; SpA zu ISO/TC 72/SC 8/WG 1 und CEN/TC 214/WG 1" ("Textile machinery - Safety requirements and noise reduction; Mirror Committee to SO/TC 72/SC 8/WG 1, ISO/TC 72/SC 8/WG 2, ISO/TC 72/SC 10, CEN/TC 214/WG 1 and CEN/TC 214/WG 4") at Standards Committee Textiles and Textile Machinery at DIN.
