This standard describes the determination of certain physical properties of fibre ropes. Amongst others, the determination of the linear density, lay length, braid pitch, elongation and breaking force are described. The standard also specifies the sample size, selection, preparation and conditioning of samples for the determination of these physical properties. It also describes the test procedures and the processing of the measurement results.
