Overview

This part of ISO 18254 describes analyses that are used to detect extractable alkylphenol ethoxylates (nonylphenol ethoxylates and octylphenol ethoxylates) in textile products. This document provides a method that uses Liquid Chromatograph (LC) with Mass Spectrometry (MS) system to detect and quantify alkylphenol ethoxylates of defined ethoxylate chain length. This document has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 248 "Textile and textile products" in collaboration with Technical Committee ISO/TC 38 "Textiles", the secretariat of which is held by BSI (United Kingdom). The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 062-05-12 AA "Textilchemische Prüfverfahren und Fasertrennung" ("Testing methods for separation and chemistry of textile fibres") at DIN Standards Committee Materials Testing (NMP).
