Overview
This standard defines particular conditions for determining the reduced viscosity (also known as viscosity number) and intrinsic viscosity of polyethylenes and polypropylenes at 135 °C in diluted solution. The International Standard ISO 1628-3 has been prepared by ISO/TC 61/SC 9/WG 6 "Polyolefins" (secretariat: ANSI, USA). CEN/TC 249 "Plastics", the secretariat of which is held by NBN (Belgium), is responsible for the European Standard. On the national level the Committee responsible for the standard is Working Committee NA 054-02-06 AA "Formmassen aus Polyolefinen" ("Polyolefins") of FNK.
Please get in touch with the relevant contact person at DIN if you have problems understanding the content of the standard or need advice on how to apply it.
