Overview
This International Standard specifies in particular the performance requirements which apply for washer-disinfectors with thermal disinfection (A0 not less than 60) for non-invasive, non-critical medical devices and healthcare equipment (for example, washbowls, transport containers). The standard contains the performance requirements for cleaning and disinfection of these washer-disinfectors and their components and equipment. Furthermore, methods, supplies and instructions are specified. Devices identified within the scope of DIN EN ISO 15883-2, DIN EN ISO 15883-3 and DIN EN ISO 15883-4 shall not be processed in washer-disinfectors specified in this standard. The International Standard has been prepared by CEN/TC 102 "Sterilizers for medical purposes", the secretariat of which is held by DIN, in collaboration with ISO/TC 198 "Sterilization of health care products". The responsible Committee is NA 063-04-09 AA "Reinigungs-Desinfektionsgeräte" ("Washer disinfectors") at NAMed.
