With DIN EN ISO 15494 "Plastics piping systems for industrial applications - Polybutene (PB), polyethylene (PE), polyethylene of raised temperature resistance (PE-RT), crosslinked polyethylene (PE-X), polypropylene (PP) - Metric series for specifications for components and the system", the public is provided with the German version of the revised EN ISO 15494. This standard specifies the characteristics and requirements for piping systems and components such as pipes, fittings, and valves made from polybutene (PB), polyethylene of raised temperature resistance (PE-RT), crosslinked polyethylene (PE-X) and polypropylene (PP) intended for above ground thermoplastics piping systems in the field of industrial applications. It is intended for design engineers, manufacturers, certification bodies, inspection bodies, testing laboratories, and users of piping systems made from polybutene (PB), polyethylene of raised temperature resistance (PE-RT), crosslinked polyethylene (PE-X), and polypropylene (PP). The standard has the character of a delivery standard. In particular, it includes quality aspects. The standard has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 138 "Plastics pipes, fittings and valves for the transport of fluids" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 155 "Plastics piping systems and ducting systems". The responsible German committee is Working Committee NA 054-05-05 AA "Industrie-Rohrleitungen" ("Plastics pipes for industrial applications") at FNK.
