Overview
DIN EN ISO 15245-1 specifies terms and definitions, dimensions and tolerances of parallel screw threads of nominal diameter 30 mm (designated 30P), 25 mm (designated 25P) and 18 mm (designated 18P), for the connection of valves to medical and industrial gas cylinders. This standard does not cover the connection requirements for - mechanical strength; - gas tightness; - capability to remain undamaged after repeated assembly and dismounting operations. This amendment is a reaction to leakages that occurred in individual cases when O-rings recommended in the standard were used. The dimensions (diameter and tolerances) of the O-rings used for sealing have been amended. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 016-00-03 AA "Druckgasflaschen und Ausrüstung; Spiegelausschuss zu CEN/TC 23 und ISO/TC 58" ("Transportable gas cylinders and equipment; mirror committee to CEN/TC 23 and ISO/TC 58") at DIN.
