The standard specifies a method of determining the ring stiffness of fittings made of thermoplastic materials and for use in plastic piping systems. The method can be used provided that the fitting allows a ring deflection of at least 4 %. The standard addresses the manufacturers, test facilities and users of thermoplastic fittings. The purpose of this document is to provide the user with an internationally recognised test standard on the determination of ring stiffness of thermoplastic fittings. In particular, the standard contains aspects of quality and product safety. DIN EN ISO 13967 is the German version which has been prepared by ISO/TC 138 "Plastics pipes, fittings and valves for the transport of fluids", in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 155 "Plastic piping systems and ducting systems". At DIN the Committee responsible for DIN EN ISO 13967 is NA 054-05-02 AA "Prüfverfahren für Rohre" ("Test methods for pipes").
